Stephanie Aquino picOn Wednesday May 20th we were honored to present the first ever IA Scholarship award at Hope Academy to recent graduate Stephanie Aquino. This scholarship is a $2,500/year award for up to four years for a Hope Academy graduate pursuing a major or minor in the arts, or some minimum level of artistic studies. Eligible students must have served as an intern for a past Art Exploration program at Hope Academy. In addition to meeting the general requirements of the Hope Scholars Fund, recipients must also serve as an IA intern for at least one summer IA Exploration Program at Hope Academy during the scholarship period. The goal of this award is to help students continue their artistic development at a college level and return to Hope Academy to help inspire other students to discover their own creative voices. Stephanie will be joining us starting June 8 for this year’s Art Exploration program as an assistant Artist Mentor in photography.

Meet Stephanie Aquino – Scholarship Student

My name is Maria Stephanie Aquino Sanchez. But I like to go by Stephanie. I come from a family of four. Both of my parents did not finish High School. I am the first one in my family to attend college. I enjoy being surrounded by kids. I love working with kids. I also love animals. One thinks that I am afraid of animals. I’m more afraid of the insect flies. I will be attending the University of Northwestern. I have been blessed with scholarships. I want to thank Inverted Arts for being one of those scholarships. Thank you for donating some money towards my education. I am pursuing a minor in Spanish, and a major in Biology. After that I am planing in going to Medical School and get a PH.D as a Pediatrician. I’ve always had that desire in my heart. And the time has arrived for me to accomplish my dream. One of my hobbies is photography. I enjoy taking pictures of nature or of people. I love being behind the camera to capture the moment.
