IA is pleased to announce that we have received an Arts Learning Grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council for our sixth annual Art Exploration Program at Hope Academy that runs June 13 – July 8, 2016. The purpose of the program is to bring in professional Artist Mentors who provide tools, training and opportunities for Hope students to discover and express their creative voices in one of five artistic disciplines: music, video, visual art, photography or theater. The program is broken into two parts: eight 2-hour sessions for 60 middle school students during weeks 3-4, and eight 2-hour sessions for 10 high school interns during weeks 1-2. The program concludes with a Community Showcase Event July 7th at 7pm at Hope Academy that is free and open to the public. Mark it on your calendar and come celebrate the creative accomplishments of these talented students!

“This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.”
